Case Studies - Plastic Boxes in the Fitting Department
Issue
During the final part of the manufacturing process, a large manufacturer of fixtures and fittings has a number of processes where the fittings are taken out of the boxes for testing etc. Subsequently they are put back in the boxes and carried on to the next operation. During these processes a string of tasks were carried out where the operator had to bend over to stack the loaded boxes.
Solution
Our solution is minilifts with forks. The plastic boxes are stacked and placed on a wheel frame and can thus be pushed around between the various stages of manufacture. The forks of the minilifts are placed under the wheel frame and the stacks are lifted, until the right position. In reverse order the forks are lowered each time a box has been filled and an empty box is placed on top. In this way the boxes can be filled to optimum height.
