Case Studies - Lifting with Vacuum

Vacuum is often used when lifting subjects which are not easy to handle and manage.

We have e.g. delivered minilifts with vacuum for lifting fuel tanks on the Volvo Truck production line. For this particular task the Hovmand minilifts are fitted with a vacuum pump and 4 suckers. The suction discs are adjustable in order to suit the curves of the fuel tanks.

The suction discs are mounted on a tip-and-turn unit securing the right grip of the fuel tanks as the fuel tanks are placed in different ways on the transport shelves.

Vacuum equipment on minilifts is also used for many other purposes than fuel tanks, e.g. window panes, doors and containers.
